Fresh from a Time War which did not, in fact, exist in the previous series', Ecclestone's Doctor oozes rage, sarcasm and impatience. Strangely enough, unlike COlin Baker's Doctor who was also on the abrasive side, I feel that it works. Ecclestone has none of the sensitivity of the two Doctors who follow him and yet he has a likeable, engaging side. The dynamic between him and Rose worked particularly well I felt.

I liked Christopher Ecclestone and I think he could have carried on well (had he not left). The Americans have this sorted and lock people into contracts before starting on anything so the main characters can't bail after one series. I also very much like Paul McGann, but the episode he did was unfortunately terribly implemented.

I liked Christopher Ecclestone as well and the fact that he seemed a little tougher than the doctors that followed him.

I never properly warmed to him, ut likely because he had such a short run.

Maybe it was the delight of the relaunch that persuaded me but I thought Christopher Ecclestone was excellent and sadly missed. I wish he had stayed for two periods.

Yeah I never understood why he left after just one. Did he think, perhaps that it was not going to be a success? If so then he made a big mistake I think. He had some wonderful episodes - Family of Blood, for instance, is in my all time top five - but there wasn't time to totally get to know him before he left. Loved the interplay between him and Jack. Loved Jack, for that matter

From what I heard, the work schedule was much harder than he had anticipated and he couldn't keep up with it, which is why they were able to change the ending of the series while it was still in production to move onto someone else.

Hmm weird .. I mean, you'd think that being a professional actor he would have understood at the outset that there was going to be a demanding workload.

I'll have to go back and watch those episodes. It's been awhile.

Watched Rose. I think I'll skip the end of the world one.I think I saw that not too long ago. On to The Unquiet Dead.

The Unquiet Dead one is excellent. I tend to like the historical ones better than the futuristic ones.

I noticed in the Unquiet Dead, the young psychic girl in one of her clairvoyant moments mentioned Bad Wolf. I had missed that before.

It's a recurrent theme all the way through that season. There are times when there is graffiti in the background - once even on the TARDIS itself - spelling Bad Wolf.

I hated the whole Bad Wolf thing! Wayyyy to convoluted for my liking!
