I know some people are really keen on the idea but personally I hate it. I dunno ... it just would not work I think. It's not a sexism thing .. it's just that the Doctor for me is quintessentially male. What do other people think?

I don't like the idea very much either. But I know it is possible because in at least one case it does mention a time Lord who changed gender and also if they can change their faces and the age they look I suppose it would not be so hard to change sex!

I wouldn't mind if they had a female Doctor. It would be interesting to see what kind of dynamic would be between her and her Companion.

It could end up being odd, having been so established as a male role, but think it might work if they found the right person to carry it off, but it shouldn't be done just for its own sake.

What ever happened to the Doctor's daughter? She just regenerated and took off. I wonder if they'll ever bring her back?

She did not regenerate as such - she just came back to life. I was expecting a spin off too - as I guess you know she is Peter Davidson's daughter irl - but it never seemed to happen. I'd prefer a Vastra and Jenny spin off tho.

Ah! I've never watched the old ones. I tried once or twice but never got past the first 15 minutes or so.

To me, he was always more of a vet than a doctor!
