Tennant is my second favourite Doctor and arguably the one whose character is the most developed in the new seasons. He is a bit of a contradiction in some senses though - non violent (he got the PM sacked after she committed what he considered to be genocide against the Sycorax) and yet with something of an arrogance and a God Complex as things go on - look at the Waters of Mars special, for instance, where he decides that the rules of Time are not for him.

He is my favourite doctor - that might still change, but so far, he has been my favourite. I'm not sure why. The Waters of Mars special was scary, though.

I really liked it - great special effects. But I was unsure in the change in the Doctor's behaviour. I think he realised himself, by the end, that he had gone too far

I used to dream about Tennant regularly. I probably had something of a crush on him. But I do like Matt Smith better.

At first they seemed a bit indistinguishable - I think that it took a while for Matt Smith to find his stride and stop emulating Tennant's Doctor's foibles and mannerisms.

I think Waters of Mars happened after someone left him... I can't remember the episode(s) before it, but the way he acted in that episode, while against his character, seemed justified because it felt like he was rebelling against what had to be because of the loss he suffered in the previous episode. It was almost like 'I've had enough of these rules', but in the end, that woman's suicide made him realise that not following rules was not an option, especially for him.

That one was one of the first Dr. Who episodes I ever watched.

Apart from one or two missed episodes, I've seen all the new ones in order, although most of them only once or twice. The first episodes I saw were with Tom Baker. I have it on good authority that I used to hide from the Daleks behind the sofa. As we know, Daleks are impervious to everything but upholstery!

I used to hide behind the sofa too. Didn't everyone?

SOme of the new stuff is way more scary than the old though and really not appropriate for very small children.

Yeah - I watch classic Who with my little sister, but I won't show her new stuff until she's more mature.
Waters of Mars is a scary episode. I actually started watching it a few months ago, and decided that I didn't want that level of stress in my entertainment that day, so I turned it off. I think the deal with his character in that episode was that he'd been alone for too long at that point and was starting to go off the rails a bit.
