Because i am physically unable to be on a forum that does not have a countdown thread Okay here's how it works .. I start at number one million and give a Who fact .. or thought .. or anything .. and the next person takes one number off and gives another fact or thought. Simple 1,000,000 And my thought to start with is that the Doctor needs more male assistants

999 996 In view of the time-scales of the existing 1,000,000 thread that I am also party to, wouldn't maybe 100,000 be a better starting point? We don't have the opportunity to regenerate when we die and get to see the count get to zero!

Or... do a count up thread! That way it'll not feel incomplete and unachievable all the time!

This could turn out to be a loooong thread...! 999,993 fun fact: Michael Sheard, the actor who played Mr Bronson in Grange Hill, was in the classic series 6 times (I mean as six different characters, not six episodes). Possibly one of the most recurring actors.

999 991 The Doctor's real name remains a complete mystery to all but a very small number of individuals including The Master, River Song and Clara Oswald.

999 983 the funny thing is that the character initially was at school with Amy .. and is Amy's daughter.

But she regenerated. The young black girl who went to school with Amy was considerably younger looking than the River she regenerated into.

999 981 I get the impression that I've missed a lot of plot points along the way! Are we going to eventually work out that The Doctor is his own grandfather and delivered himself at the hospital, hence the name!

999 980 Kye yes, Mels was a good deal younger than River, and we later learned that she had regenerated at least once previously and had wound up as a toddler. So it's kinda difficult to work out how old she might be
