Here is a thread for people to get to know one another . My name is Jo, I am 38 and I first remember watching DW when I was five or so. Although I can recall watching Tom Baker episodes I think that they must have been later repeats and that the first Doctor I clearly recall watching was Davidson. Anyway, I live in ENgland, I am engaged and getting married in the next few months and I love cats. Erm, that's it

My name is Parul, and I first watched Doctor Who with my (then) boyfriend. It was the original series, first season... black and white. I thought it was cute. Then when he came to India to get married to me, he brought the entire first season of the new series with him. He got my mother and me totally hooked on, and we are now on the Matt Smith Season (season 5 I think). I think David Tennant is the best doctaaahhhh ever! However, I am looking forward to watching Peter Capaldi too!
I love books, and dogs and cats and pigeons and rats and snakes ... pretty much all animals except spiders. Right now, along with Doctor Who, I am also watching The Dog Whisperer.

*beams at Parul*. I think you will take to Matt Smith a lot too. For everyone else, please try to avoid spoilers of the Matt Smith episodes as Parul has not seen many of them yet!

I am Miisa and only got into Who a few years ago when they were repeating the old (newWho) episodes pretty much daily over the summer where I live. I had seen random episodes before that, but it wasn't until I then managed to see several consecutive ones and thus got a feel for the story and characters that I really got into it.

I'm Steve and I live in South Manchester. When I first watched Doctor Who, policemen used to use those telephone boxes quite frequently. The nearest one was a 5-minute walk from my house and at the bottom of Lydgate Lane where I went to school. I don't remember the first episode, possibly because I was at university at the time and we only had one black and white set to share between 1,000 students. I became an avid fan of Doctor Who when it was relaunched in 2005.

*waves at Jo!* I'm Islam, 18 years old from France (Egypt originally but oh well). I've only watched Blink episode as suggested from Jo and found it pretty mysterious which is cool! I'm looking forward to watch the rest of the series.
I like, erm, talking to my girlfriend, having fun and meeting new people from around the world! That's pretty much it, nice to meet ya all! xx

Hi Islam! Now you've seen Blink I'd recommend starting with the Chris Ecclestone series. First episode is called 'Rose'

I'm Steve, I'm from Birmingham, lived in Manchester for nearly fifteen years then moved to Crewe. I've been a bit obsessed with Doctor Who since I first watched it on video in the early 90s. I eagerly watched the series when it returned in 2005, and gave up after two or three seasons, I'm afraid. It was too Americanised, the plot arcs made it difficult to watch and I missed cliffhangers. Anyway, sorry for griping. It's my proud boast that I know more about (old) Who than anyone I know. That may change here... I also like to think I'm a walking encyclopaedia for it (again, I may be proved wrong!). I'm just a geeky guy...and proud of it!

Sounds like a point to introduce myself (as the person who changed it)... I am Colin, 41, currently living in Reading, but engaged to Jo and, therefore, tasked with the job of trying to soup-up the forum from the eye-burning defaults!

I'm Kye (or Karla). The first time I ever saw Dr Who was when I was visiting Jo about 5 years ago. I'm a big fan of the new series, but don't much like the old. I live in Canada with my dog and 2 cats and the occasional daughter.

Hi Islam! Now you've seen Blink I'd recommend starting with the Chris Ecclestone series. First episode is called 'Rose' Is it as good a sequence of Blink, or a different series? And are Dr. Who's episodes as thrilling and mysterious as Blink?

Hi, all Micah here. Am 37, married; have two little ones and another due in May -- yay, my wife and I will be outnumbered! Am an Oregonian, although lived in New Zealand for several years as a boy, during which time I vaguely remember catching glimpses of an odd-looking show called Dr. Who on one of the 2 or 3 channels NZ had back then. I honestly don't have the foggiest notion of the plots of any particular episodes; but am intrigued to check it out. I have very eclectic interests in movies and shows, from all periods, so think it might be best to just start at the very beginning of the oldest series and work forward? Looking forward to learning more and having fun with you all here!

Hi everyone, I'm Kate, some of you might know me already I'm 18 and a student from London. I admit to only having watched Dr. Who from when it re-started in 2005, but am hoping to watch some of the older episodes.
